Pakistan Earthquake Relief & Rehabilitation Project
Location: District Mansehra, NWFP Province, Pakistan
The 2005 earthquake was a major earthquake in Pakistan. It occurred on 8 October 2005 and registered a moment magnitude of 7.6. It caused 73,338 deaths and left around 3 million people homeless.
In response, Sharing Smiles Pakistan, then operating under the name PakCare, with the help of partners, distributed tents, food packs, jackets, kitchen sets, shoes, hygiene kits, clothing, water coolers, metal sheets for reconstruction, and other essential supplies.
The project also sponsored 500 school children with books, bags, uniforms, shoes, and other educational support.
